In March, plug-in electric car sales in Spain increased by about 176% year-over-year.<\/strong> Plug-in sales in the previous month hit 2 084 units. Looking at market share, Spain reached 1.7% in March. 1.1% belongs to BEVs and the remaining 0.6% comes from PHEVs. This means Spain continues the growth towards 2% market share.<\/strong><\/p>\n

During the first quarter, plug-in electric car sales doubled to almost 4 500.<\/p>\n

Changes in the electric car market in Spain<\/h3>\n

Absolute best-seller last month was Tesla Model 3<\/strong> (No.1) with 396 units sold. Nissan Leaf (No.2) is the second best-selling EV with 278 registrations in March. Renault Zoe (No.7) is on the downfall and it seems the 2017 & 2018 best-seller won\u2019t be able to make a treble. Only 56 units were sold last month. However, the record of 554 units sold in October 2017 is still not broken.<\/p>\n

BMW Group had a strong month too. Mini Countryman PHEV (No.4) hit 178 units sold while BMW i3 (No.6) delivered 118 registrations. Tourer (No.8) delivered 166 which is a new year best.<\/p>\n

The VW e-Golf came to No.9 while the Volvo XC60 PHEV (No.11) broke its personal best, with 79 registrations.<\/p>\n
