The bidirectional meter is the key component to take your electrical installation’s dynamic power control to the next level. Thanks to its bidirectional measurement capability, the device monitors in real time both household consumption and any photovoltaic energy surplus, automatically adjusting the power allocated to your electric vehicle charging so that the contracted power limit is never exceeded.
How the bidirectional meter works
Once installed in the electrical panel, the meter continuously reads the energy flow through its current clamps. This information is sent to the Trydan/Trydan Pro charger, which adjusts the vehicle’s charging current in real time based on the household’s instantaneous consumption.
The meter provides precise data on consumption, production and import/export in real time, visible through the free V2C Cloud app. The result: always efficient charging, with no tripped breakers and no wasted watts.
Two versions of the bidirectional meter for every installation type
The bidirectional meter is available in two configurations to suit your home’s electrical supply:
- Single-phase + 1 Clamp 120A — Ideal for single-phase supply installations. Includes one 120A current clamp for measuring the home’s main supply.
- Three-phase + 3 Clamps 120A — Designed for three-phase supply installations. Includes three 120A current clamps, one per phase, for complete and accurate measurement of the entire installation.
How to install the V2C bidirectional meter?
Refer to the official V2C support documentation to carry out the installation correctly and safely:
