Connecting SolarEdge Inverter with Trydan

SolarEdge is committed to driving widespread adoption of solar energy through innovative technologies that enhance the performance and reliability of photovoltaic systems.

Given the increasing demand for sustainable energy solutions, integrating the SolarEdge solar inverter with our e-Charger Trydan represents a significant step towards a greener and more efficient future.

Below are the steps for correctly integrating them, ensuring optimal operation and seamless charging experience.

Steps for connecting SolarEdge inverter with Trydan:

Inverter configuration

Verify that the inverter has a smart meter measuring grid consumption.

Update the inverter to the latest firmware version.

Enable ModBus RS485 TCP communication on the inverter.

Enable direct WiFi on the inverter by toggling the red toggle switch to the “P” position for less than 5 seconds.

Connect to SolarEdge Wireless Network

Connect to the inverter’s WiFi network. Access it from your computer or smartphone and locate the signal emitted by the SolarEdge inverter. The access key is on the right side of the inverter.

Access SolarEdge Web Portal and Perform Pre-Configuration

With the wireless network established, access the web browser on your mobile device or laptop and enter the following address: 172.16.0.1 > ‘site communication’. You can enable this without needing the installer password. If access is not possible, contact the installer or SolarEdge.

Enable Modbus TCP/IP and Port. Select the ‘TCP Modbus Port’ option, enable ‘Modbus’, and leave the default port set to ‘1502‘.

Verify WiFi Connection and Assigned IP. Check the WiFi connection and note the IP address assigned to the inverter. Ensure that the inverter is connected to the same WiFi network as the charger. You will use this IP address later for configuring dynamic control through the V2C Cloud app.

Enable Multi-Device Modbus. Select the ‘RS485-1’ option and enable the Modbus (Multi-device) feature.

Setting up SolarEdge inverter on V2C Cloud

Connect the e-Charger to the same WiFi network as the inverter*. To pair it, open the V2C Cloud app, select the charger, and then click on the ‘settings’ icon in the top right corner.

Navigate to the dynamic power control section and choose ‘inverter’ for device type, and ‘SolarEdge’ for inverter type.

Next, enter the IP address of the inverter you are connecting to, noted in step 8. If you haven’t correctly completed this step, you can find the IP using the IP finder.

Select the correct installation scheme and type, then click ‘save’ to apply the configuration. Afterward, the equipment will restart and be ready to receive home consumption data.

* If you are using extenders, they should not function as routers as this will create a new local network. If a new network is created and you connect to it, you must change the inverter’s network to this new network.
