Integration of the Fronius Solar inverter with Trydan
Do you have a Fronius solar inverter and want to integrate it with our Trydan electric vehicle charger? On this page, we explain the step-by-step process for integration and ensuring the correct operation of both the Fronius Primo and Fronius GEN24 inverters.
Steps for WiFi connection of Fronius inverters
OPTION 1
Check that the WiFi icon appears above the charger you wish to link.
OPTION 2
Open the e-Charger you want to link and go to the ‘Settings’ menu. At the bottom, you will find the ‘WiFi Settings’ button. If the charger is already connected, the network name, signal strength, and IP address will be displayed. If not, select the available WiFi signal, provided you are near the charging point, and enter the corresponding password. If this method doesn’t work, manually input the network details.
It is important to remember that the WiFi network you connect to should be 2.4GHz, and you must note the SSID name of the network for the Fronius inverter configuration.
How to enable the WiFi signal on the Fronius Primo inverter?
Connect to the Fronius wireless network
Access from your computer or smartphone and look for the signal emitted by the Fronius inverter. The network name and password will be displayed on the inverter’s screen. If you have any doubts, refer to the previous section.
Access the Fronius web interface
Once the wireless network is established, open the web browser and enter the following address: 192.168.250.181 . If prompted for login credentials, enter username: admin and password: admin. If you cannot access it, contact the installer or Fronius, who will provide a one-time password.
Preliminary configuration from the Fronius web portal
Consult the IP of the Fronius GEN24 inverter
Once inside the inverter interface, click on the ‘Communication’ section, then go to ‘Network’. Note down the IP address (IP Address); this is the one to use when linking the inverter with the charger. In this case, the IP address is 192.168.1.102, as shown in the image.
Enable Modbus TCP/IP on the Fronius GEN24 inverter
In the ‘Communication’ section, go to Modbus and ensure that the information is configured as follows:
Slave as Modbus TCP: Enabled
Modbus Port: 502
Meter Address: 240
SunSpec Model Type: Select ‘float’.
Inverter Control via Modbus: Enabled
Configuring the Fronius Inverter in V2C Cloud
This final step is common for both the Fronius Primo and GEN24 and involves linking the solar inverter to the charger.
To properly configure dynamic power control in V2C Cloud, go to the ‘settings’ section of your e-Charger and select ‘dynamic power control’.
Choose ‘inverter’ as the device type and select Fronius in the ‘inverter type’ section. Then, assign the static IP address provided by Fronius and choose the appropriate installation for each case.
Finally, click ‘Save’ to apply the configuration correctly. The system will restart and be ready to perform dynamic power control.
