V2C Collective Charging

The charging solution for residential communities with a single meter in the garage

Charger, meter, and software in a single system for community garages. Each neighbor pays only for what they charge. No construction or increasing the building’s power.

For property communities, property managers, real estate managers, and developers.

The challenge

The three challenges of collective charging

A community garage with a single meter presents three challenges: distributing power, dividing costs, and being able to grow when more neighbors join.

Power management

How much charging power is available for each car?

The available power must be distributed in real-time among the cars that are charging at any given moment.

Three cars chargingA single power
Cost distribution

Who pays for the charges?

Each charge must be registered in the name of the person who made it, so that each neighbor pays only for what they used.

Scalability

How many chargers can be installed?

The installation should be expandable with new chargers, without limit, as new neighbors join.

The solution

The hardware and software of V2C

The chargers and a meter at the connection point. And two cloud platforms: V2C Cloud distributes the power, V2C Payments distributes the cost.

The hardware

Trydan Pro and Cloud Meter

The charger
Trydan Pro, from 7.4 to 22 kW. It has an internal meter suitable for recharging energy and a card reader to identify each resident on the device itself.
How it connects
WiFi, Ethernet, or 4G. To function even in garages where the signal does not reach.
The meter
Cloud Meter at the main connection. It knows how much power is available at any moment.
The software

V2C Cloud and V2C Payments

V2C Cloud distributes the power
Balances the available power among all chargers that are charging at the same time.
V2C Payments distributes the cost
Each charge is automatically billed to the person who made it, without manual distributions.
And there is no limit
One charger, two, a hundred. No limit on devices.
A neighbor plugs her electric car into the wall charger in her parking space in a community garage, with another car charging in the adjacent space, two neighbors passing in the background, and more chargers installed in the rest of the spaces.

How the installation works

A single connection for the entire garage

  • A single main meter for all charging points
  • No individual meters or construction work per household
  • Centralized management of power, rates, and costs
  • New chargers without redoing the garage installation

Power distribution · V2C Cloud

The power is distributed among the connected cars

This is how the administrator sees it on the free V2C Cloud platform. When a car finishes charging or disconnects, its power is automatically transferred to the others.

Recommendation 3.6 kW per charging point
  • More economical installation
  • More spots charging at the same time
  • Sufficient power for regular use

Two profiles, total control from V2C Cloud

The same garage seen from two places: each neighbor manages their charger and the community manages the whole.

User Profile

The neighbor with a charger

  • Access from the V2C app.
  • Locking via app or RFID card.
  • Scheduled charging programming.
  • Consumption statistics.
Administrator Profile

The community or the manager

  • User registration and management.
  • Adjustment of contracted power.
  • Report generation.
  • Debt control.

Payment Management · V2C Payments

Each neighbor only pays for what they charge

The administrator shares each charging point with the owner of their parking space. From that moment on, the energy that is charged is billed to them.

    Create the rate

The administrator defines the price time slots, during the week and on weekends.

The neighbor registers and adds their card

They log into their account and add the payment method to be charged every month.

Automatic billing

From that moment on, the neighbor is a co-owner of their charger, and at the end of the month, they are charged for the energy they have used.

The community does not have to manually distribute the bill or settle accounts with anyone.

V2C Rate 5 % on what is charged
  • For the operation and improvement of the system.
  • No fixed monthly fees.
  • Only pay for completed charges.

Management

Who manages the installation?

Two models, depending on how much the community wants to get involved. The same V2C technology in both.

  1. Model A

    Community self-management

The community itself, through its administrator, manages the installation with V2C Cloud and V2C Payments, and maintains direct control.

Service cost 5 % on what is charged

No fixed monthly fee. All amounts collected from users of the charging points are considered charged amounts.

If the distribution is done manually, without automation, there is no cost.

  2. Model B

Comprehensive management by a third party

If the community prefers to be worry-free, a third party takes over the entire management: meters, power, rates, and distribution, with transparent invoices and quarterly reports.

    Management cost 10 % of consumption + 100 €/month fixed fee

The actual network costs — electricity, internet, meter — are distributed among the users.

The fixed fee can be covered by the community at the beginning, when there are few users.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    What communities ask the most

What is the Scheme 1 of electrical installation for electric cars?

It is the installation where all the charging points in the garage are connected to a single main meter, instead of one meter per household. It is common in new constructions and in buildings where the garage supply was never individualized.

How much does it cost to manage collective charging with V2C?

If the community manages the system on its own with V2C Cloud, the manual cost distribution has no cost. If automatic charging by card is activated with V2C Payments, the commission is 5% of the amount charged, with no fixed monthly fee.

Can we add chargers later without redoing the installation?

Yes. Each new neighbor only needs to connect the supply of their parking space to the existing main meter, and have their charging point connect to the garage’s WiFi. The system has no limit on the number of devices.

What happens if a neighbor does not pay for their consumption?

The administrator can block that specific user’s charging point from V2C Cloud, without affecting the rest of the community, until the payment is regularized.

Do we need internet in the garage?

Yes, it is the only infrastructure requirement: a WiFi network in the parking area so that the chargers are within the V2C Cloud system. Trydan Pro also supports wired Ethernet connection if the WiFi signal is weak.

How does Trydan Pro differ from the standard Trydan charger for this use?

Trydan Pro adds Ethernet and 4G connectivity, an RFID reader to identify each owner, and the possibility of a MID meter: everything needed for a multi-user environment.
