Madrid allocates 1.5 million to electric vehicle charging points.

The Community of Madrid will invest 1,500,000 euros in grants for the installation of charging points for electric vehicles, both in public and private locations, in the modalities of conventional, semi-fast, fast, and ultra-fast charging.

Individuals, companies, homeowner associations, and public or local entities will be able to benefit from these grants, announced regional vice president Pedro Rollán today, alongside the Minister of Economy, Engracia Hidalgo, at a press conference following the Government Council.

These grants will cover up to 60% of the investment for public entities, 50% for individuals and homeowner associations, and 40% for companies, with a maximum limit of 50,000 euros per project and 100,000 euros per beneficiary.

Additionally, the Community will also “subsidize the electrical pre-installation for the charging of electric vehicles that includes a main conduit through community areas in the case of parking lots or collective establishments,” enabling the creation of branches to the charging points located in parking spaces.

Applications will be processed and resolved in the order they are submitted until the funds are exhausted, and payment will be made once the investment has been justified.

In the case of homeowner associations, the application must be accompanied, among other documentation, by the minutes stating the agreement of the community to carry out the installation subject to the requested grant, adopted with the legally required quorum.

Municipalities must accompany the application with the corresponding certificate approving the grant application and delegation to the person requesting it.

Finally, in the case of companies, an updated certification from the commercial registry, a deed proving the authority of the applicant, and the tax identification card of the entity will be required.

These grants, which are part of the Energy Plan of the Community of Madrid Horizon 2020, aim to facilitate the deployment of necessary infrastructure for vehicles powered by alternative energies to conventional fossil fuels, in this case, in its pure electric mobility variant ‘BEV’ or plug-in hybrid electric ‘PHEV’.
