We launched EcoCharging, the new feature of V2C Cloud that automatically charges your car during the cheapest hours.

At V2C, we are excited to announce the launch of EcoCharging, a completely innovative feature included in our V2C Cloud app that allows you to automatically charge your electric car during the time slots with the lowest electricity rates. EcoCharging analyzes electricity rates every hour and automatically selects the best time to start, pause, or resume charging, maximizing savings without any intervention from you.

What makes EcoCharging different?

Unlike standard charging and conventional scheduling, which simply starts and completes without considering hourly rates, EcoCharging automatically selects the most economical times to charge your vehicle.

Two charging options: continuous or segmented

It allows you to choose between two flexible charging options: continuous charging or segmented charging.
With the continuous charging option, EcoCharging performs a continuous charge during the most economical segment and maintains the charge without interruptions.

On the other hand, the segmented charging option pauses and resumes charging to take advantage of the cheaper hours, thus maximizing total savings.

End time and desired charge percentage

In EcoCharging, you can configure the system to have your car charged by a specific time, or define the desired charge percentage, ensuring that the vehicle is always ready at the moment and with the range you need.

Advanced artificial intelligence that adapts to each user’s habits

EcoCharging integrates advanced artificial intelligence (AI) that goes beyond simply choosing the cheapest charging hours: it adapts to your routine and daily usage needs. This system learns from the user’s charging patterns and automatically adjusts the process, ensuring that the vehicle is ready when needed.

For example, if the user typically charges their car at 8:00 PM and unplugs it at 7:00 AM, EcoCharging identifies this pattern, adjusting the charging within that timeframe if a specific end time or desired charge percentage is not chosen. This precision and personalization are made possible by the constant learning of the AI.

A result of collaboration with the University of Zaragoza

EcoCharging is the result of a collaborative project with the University of Zaragoza, developed under the V2C – Smart Energy Chair that we share with this recognized institution to facilitate intelligent energy management. Thanks to this partnership, we have benefited from the support and expertise of a research team specialized in artificial intelligence, which has been key to making EcoCharging an advanced and accessible technology aimed at enhancing the charging experience and maximizing the energy efficiency of each user.
