ELECTRIC CAR NEWS

We already know some of the models that will be released soon or at the end of 2020. The intention of all brands, in line with the new legislation in European countries regarding combustion engines, is to bet on sustainable mobility. Here are the latest electric car developments from the major automotive brands.

The Bavarians were pioneers in launching an electric model. Now they aim to fill the 2020 market with a new 100% electric vehicle, the iX3. It is nothing less than an SUV similar to the X3, but this time electric.

AUDI

The Stuttgart brand has officially presented the high-end SUV with which it will begin its journey in the electric car market. The new Audi e-tron claims a range of 417 km and a maximum power of 408 HP. Due to its dimensions, similar to the Q8, it cannot be compared to any other electric car since the Tesla Model X is larger and the Jaguar i-Pace is smaller. The German brand looks towards a not-so-distant future, and therefore at the end of 2020, they will launch a slightly smaller model, the Q4 e-tron and the e-tron GT, an elegant sports car that, according to the brand, the presented concept has 99% of the production model.

If their neighbors at Audi and BMW are going to launch an electric SUV, the silver star cannot fall behind. By the end of this year, we will see the first batch of the new Mercedes EQC, which claims about 400 HP and a range of 300 km. With a design quite similar to the GLC model, it aims to compete directly with the SUVs from other brands that already have their electric models. They have also presented the EQV, a fully electric minivan that will go on sale in 2020.

The Czech brand presented a new crossover, the Skoda Vision iV, at the last Geneva Motor Show, with 306 HP and a claimed range of 500 km, a considerable figure for the vehicle’s dimensions. An SUV with futuristic and aggressive lines that will go on sale next year.

PEUGEOT CITROËN AND OPEL

The PSA group is investing heavily in sustainability for the present and future, which is why these brands have already announced new electric cars in their lineup.

Peugeot promises us a fully electric version of the 208, the e208.

Citroën, on the other hand, aims to revolutionize the market and change our mobility with the Ami One; for now, we only have the concept of what will be the most revolutionary so far.

We know very little about the electric Opel Corsa, simply that it will be called Opel Corsa e-GSI.
