Plan for electric vehicle support “stable and uninterrupted” until 2020

The Executive and the left-wing coalition aim to prevent sales of this type of vehicle from concentrating at specific times and/or being stalled until the approval of new incentives, as is currently happening.

The Government and Unidos Podemos have agreed to implement a financial aid plan for electric vehicles, “stable and uninterrupted” until 2020, according to the 2019 General State Budget (PGE) agreement.

The Executive and the left-wing coalition aim to prevent sales of this type of vehicle from concentrating at specific times and/or being stalled until the approval of new incentives, as is currently happening.

As detailed in the 2019 PGE agreement, the plan will have at least 30% of the increased revenue from the diesel vehicle fuel tax generated by the regulatory change for these actions in 2020.

The 2018 General State Budget (PGE) (approved by the PP) includes 66.6 million euros in support for energy-efficient and sustainable mobility. The current Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism is responsible for 16.6 million, while the Ministry of Ecological Transition manages, through the Institute for Diversification and Saving of Energy (IDEA), 50 million euros. However, this allocation is still pending implementation.
