Technical Application Guide for ITC BT 52 – Infrastructure for Electric Vehicle Charging.

The Ministry of Economy, Industry and Competitiveness published a useful guide in November 2017 that helps interpret the already published ITC – BT 52. The Guide clarifies the requirements of ITC – BT 52, includes practical examples, and recommendations aimed at installers or designers.

It gathers advice on how to carry out charging installations according to the specific circumstances of the building, which affect products such as cable management systems, cables, protection devices, and charging stations.

Additionally, it includes technical clarifications on the characteristics of power outlets and connectors to comply with the regulatory requirements included in Directive 2014/94/EU, related to the implementation of infrastructure for alternative fuels, or clarifications to align the requirements for differential protection with the new criteria of international standardization.

Therefore, it is a document that complements the requirements of ITC-BT-52 with the experience that the sector has acquired since the publication of Royal Decree 1053/2014, in December 2014.
