Electric vehicle sales in Spain increased by 176% in March

In March, the registration of plug-in electric cars in Spain increased by approximately 176% year-on-year. Plug-in sales in the previous month reached 2,084 units. Regarding market share, Spain reached 1.7% in March. Of this, 1.1% belongs to BEVs and the remaining 0.6% comes from PHEVs. This means that Spain continues to grow towards a 2% market share.

During the first quarter, sales of plug-in electric cars doubled to nearly 4,500 units.

Additionally, the absolute best seller of last month was the Tesla Model 3 (No.1) with 396 units sold. Nissan Leaf (No.2) is the second most sold electric vehicle with 278 registrations in March. Renault Zoe (No.7) is declining and it seems that the best-seller of 2017 and 2018 will not be able to make a triple. Only 56 units were sold last month. However, the record of 554 units sold in October 2017 has still not been broken.
