If you want, you can change the SIM to another operator’s (the SIM is physically included on the product’s control board); otherwise, within the app you can see how many MB you have left and recharge it for €15 for another 9 years and another 500MB. Using the charger for non-standard functions, such as APIs or OCPP, can make data consumption much higher.

    What is infinite impedance?

“Infinite impedance” in V2C chargers is a technology that prevents the electricity meter from detecting the electric vehicle’s charging point. In this way, the charger behaves as if it were not connected directly to the grid, avoiding incidents or blocks in case of supply cuts: simply lowering and raising the main switch is enough to restore the installation. Additionally, this system complies with the installation scheme 2 regulation according to the Complementary Technical Instruction ITC BT-52, guaranteeing the correct safety and legality of the electrical installation. https://v2charge.com/support/trydan/infinite-impedance/

What is the size of the cable on the Trydan?

Trydan can be purchased with a 5-meter or 10-meter cable. Remember that the 5-meter cable starts from inside the charger itself, so assume it might be 10-20 centimeters shorter when counting the total cable from the outside.

What is the cable with the Tesla button?

The integrated Tesla button in the improved version of Trydan allows opening the charging port and unlocking the cable directly from the connector, without having to use the app, the key, or access the interior of the vehicle. This functionality improves the charging experience by simplifying the process and reducing steps, making it faster and more convenient for the Tesla user. https://v2charge.com/trydan-button-tesla/

    What is Power Control?

The V2C power control system allows distributing available energy between the charging points and the home or business electrical grid, avoiding exceeding contracted limits and guaranteeing efficient charging of the electric vehicle.

    There are three main modes:

    * Dynamic: adjusts energy in real-time between several chargers or between chargers and a photovoltaic installation.

    * Static: maintains a fixed balance between sockets or chargers, ideal when consumption is stable or predictable.

    * Cloud: allows remote management from V2C servers, offering control and adjustments from the cloud.

The system is also compatible with solar installations, integrating with inverters to make the most of photovoltaic energy. Its main function is to monitor consumption in real-time and avoid overloads, automatically adjusting the power assigned to each vehicle or connected device. https://v2charge.com/support/power-control/

Does Trydan include the energy meter?

Yes, Trydan includes what we call Controlbox 2.0, which is a meter developed by V2C with POE functionality, powered directly from an Ethernet cable. it has a total of 6 inputs; depending on whether it is single-phase, the charger will come with one sensor (clamp), if it is three-phase, it will come with 3 clamps. If you have a photovoltaic installation, that is when the rest of the sensors are used, which are not included with the product. https://v2charge.com/support/power-control/dynamic/

What is the cable on the Pole Pro like?

The Pole Pro cable is always a spring cable, with the aim of improving the aesthetic of the charger and the user experience.

If you buy a single-phase Trydan charger, it comes with one clamp; if you buy a three-phase one, it comes with 3 clamps. If your installation is three-phase and you have bought a single-phase charger, you need to add two more clamps, which can be purchased separately. In case of having renewable energy, you should add 1 more clamp to the single-phase installation and 3 more clamps to the three-phase one.

    What is V2C Payments?

It is an easy-to-use payment solution integrated into V2C chargers. It is a free platform that allows you to earn income with your e-Charger by making it available to other electric mobility users (compatible with any charger that has cloud functions). https://v2charge.com/support/v2c-cloud/configuration-v2c-cloud/

How does charging via V2C Payments work?

The V2C Payments system allows the owner or manager of the charger (the “promoter”) to monetize the use of their electrical charger by offering their service to other e-mobility users.

    There are two actors:

    * Promoter: who owns or manages the charger.

    * User: who wants to use the charger to charge their vehicle.

    https://v2charge.com/support/v2c-cloud/configuration-v2c-cloud/

In the V2C Payments system, we act as charging managers, collecting 100% from your users and transmitting the remaining 95% in the first 5 days of the month via bank transfer. More information: https://v2charge.com/v2c-payments/

When you carry out charges through V2C Payments, if you activate the charge with the app, you have copies of the invoices in your charger’s user profile.

    What is EcoCharging?

V2C EcoCharging is V2C’s smart charging management system, which intelligently optimizes time slots for electric vehicle charging. it allows turning the electric vehicle charging on and off to optimize your cost as much as possible. https://v2charge.com/es/ecocharging/

How does EcoCharging know my electricity rate?

You provide the electricity rate yourself and you have to configure it. For rates, you can set flat rates, rates customized by day (the price of electricity changes every hour), or rates customized by hour and by day of the week (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday…). You can then choose indexed rates or market rates (spot) which vary each day depending on the market price in different countries.

How does EcoCharging know how long I have to charge?

You must indicate the time you are going and the percentage of charge you need to add. That is, if you want to have 70% and you currently have 40%, you must put 30%. Otherwise, you can let the artificial intelligence work for you and guess your consumption patterns. For that, we recommend doing at least 5-15 charges so it knows your consumption patterns.

Does the Pole Pro POS terminal have any monthly expense?

No, the V2C Payments system does not have monthly expenses for customers.

What is the V2C Cloud system?

The V2C Cloud system is a platform that allows managing and controlling electric chargers, consulting charging statistics, and configuring settings remotely from the app or the web portal. https://v2charge.com/support/trydan/user-manual/

The installation measurements don’t match, are weird, or are wrong?

To evaluate the problem we have, the first thing is to see which meter/inverter we are working with to perform the power control functions:

    1. Remember if we are using the Controlbox 2.0 meter (the installation must place clamp 1 in the general supply that includes all consumption). Clamp 4, if applicable, if there is a solar installation, will be placed in 4 reading the solar installation. If it is not placed this way, the measurements will not be correct.

    2. If a bidirectional meter is placed, regardless of make and model, the meter reading clamps must be placed at the total consumption of the installation, including the car and charging point.

    3. If it connects to an inverter, the measurements will reflect the consumption indicated by the inverter. Remember that the car must also be “seen” by the meter. More information: https://v2charge.com/support/power-control/dynamic/

What MID meters or inverter can I install with the TRYDAN charger?

With the TRYDAN charger, you can install meters such as the V2C ControlBox (included as standard), which works with current clamps to measure home and electric vehicle consumption. How can I have WiFi in my garage if the house signal doesn’t reach me?

In case you have a Trydan with WiFi communication, we have different ways to connect to WiFi:

    1. PLC Router. A PLC router allows transmitting the internet connection through the power lines. It is very important that the transmitter in your house connects to the main panel. Currently, based on our customers, some PLCs work very well, some work sometimes, and some never work. In our experience, it depends a lot on the meters and how close the transmitter is to the main panel. Also, if other neighbors have these devices, it works worse as there is more noise on the network.

    2. Connection with a 4G router. In case of having bought the Trydan PRO, the 4G router is already in the product and you don’t have to do anything else. It connects by itself; in case it’s a Trydan, you will have to buy a 4G WiFi router and put it next to the charging point.

    3. Other options:

    1. Take an Ethernet cable to the garage (the normal Trydan does not have an Ethernet port, then you will have to put an Ethernet-to-WiFi converter, while the Trydan Pro does have internet).

    2. Some cars allow generating a WiFi access point where you could connect it.

How do I know my charger’s serial number?

The serial number of your charger is on the side sticker, where it says S/N; it is an alphanumeric number of 6 or 7 digits. Moreover, you can consult it in the application; by entering configuration/settings (gear), it says ID number. It’s above the photo next to your charger’s version.

    What is mixed three-phase?

Mixed three-phase is a charging mode for electric vehicles in the V2C Trydan charger that dynamically changes between single-phase and three-phase charging depending on the available power, starting in single-phase and activating three-phase when convenient to better use the installation’s energy and optimize the recharge. https://v2charge.com/three-phase-mixed-charging-trydan/ To activate it, you can do it through the keyboard https://v2charge.com/support/trydan/navigation-buttons-display/

This improves vehicle detection and avoids charging failures or error messages (such as “waiting for EV,” control pilot errors, or incorrect states on the screen). https://v2charge.com/support/trydan/calibrate-e-charger/

The firmware update has stopped and is not progressing?

If the firmware update has stopped, don’t worry; it should take a maximum of 3-4 minutes. You can turn the charger off and on. It lost the internet connection while it was working. The charger will only lose memory if the power goes out during the 2 or 3 seconds when the word “update installed” appears.

The photovoltaic information is not visible in the application?

Depending on the meter installed, we can show you the solar generation data (photovoltaic) in the V2C app, but there are meters that do not allow it. This does not mean that all our modes (exclusive solar, maximum power, etc.) do not continue to work without a problem.

What consumption does the V2C charger have in standby?

It depends on the model and the communications used. However, all our chargers always consume less than 10 Watts.

What does each display state mean?

“EV waiting” – means it does not have the car connected. That is, it is waiting for you to connect the car.

“Waiting power” – according to the power profiles, the characteristics for charging are not met.

“Disabled” – The charger has been disabled by the APP and will not do anything unless you enable it. It’s like a lock or a closure.

    What is wake-up mode?

If charging is programmed from the car, some models go into sleep mode and do not start charging. This does not happen when programmed from the charger. “Wake” mode prevents the vehicle from falling asleep and guarantees the start of charging.

    * Mode 1 (recommended): works on most vehicles.

    * Mode 2: useful in some Cupra and Volkswagen group vehicles.

    * Modes 3–4: experimental.

    * Mode 5: exceptional use; can discharge the 12 V battery.

What solar energy charging modes exist?

    1. Solar Only Mode (Exclusive PV) The charger uses only the energy left over from the solar panels. If the house generates more energy than it consumes, that surplus goes directly to the car, achieving 100% free recharging. If the day is cloudy, it gets dark, or many household appliances are turned on, the car’s charging will automatically pause. It is the maximum saving mode but requires no rush to charge.

    2. Solar + Grid Mode (PV + Minimum Power) It is the most balanced mode. The charger always prioritizes the use of free solar energy but guarantees that the car never stops charging below a minimum speed that the user chooses. If there is a lack of sun, it will take the necessary energy from the power grid. Ensuring the car will be ready the next day, combining saving and reliability. In houses with solar batteries, it is important to configure the system well so that the car does not drain the home’s main batteries at night.

    3. Maximum Speed Mode (Grid + Photovoltaic) Adds the energy from the solar panels and the house’s contracted power to charge the car as quickly as possible. The charger monitors home consumption in real-time: if the oven or air conditioning is turned on, the charger automatically brakes so as not to exceed the contracted power and avoid “tripping the fuses.” It is the ideal option for those who need to charge quickly with total peace of mind, as the system protects the home’s electrical installation automatically.

    4. Programmed Pause Mode (No Charging) Allows defining exact times when the charger is prohibited from functioning, regardless of whether there is sun or if the car is plugged in. It is the perfect tool for blocking charging during peak hours where the electricity rate is more expensive, ensuring there is no unwanted consumption.

    5. Isolated Mode (For homes without electrical connection) Exclusive to the Trydan and Trydan Pro models, it is designed for homes that are 100% self-sufficient and depend entirely on their panels and batteries. The charger communicates in real-time with the house’s brain (the inverter) to use only the energy that truly remains. The absolute priority of this mode is that the house never goes dark. It modulates the car’s charging with extreme care so as not to exhaust the main batteries of the home.

Does the charger turn off after the first minute of charging?

This usually happens when the charging power profiles are not correctly configured.

How to start charging when I have the charger timed?

Press the physical button on the left for 5 seconds on the top as long as the shortcuts are not disabled in the app.

I don’t receive the verification email

If the verification email does not reach you and you have checked spam, write us a ticket so we can verify it manually.

Where can I find V2C Payments invoices?

You can download the invoices and put the billing data in the V2C user app, under payments configuration, and you can find them there.

What does power deviation mean in Exclusive PV?

When 0 is set, the standard value, the charger will try to neither inject nor have a surplus. However, you can try to make that value not 0, but a deviation in watts so that it tries, for example, never to have a surplus.

How to connect my inverter with batteries to my charger?

The best configuration for it is through direct connection with the inverter. V2C is working so that you can also manage the battery from V2C itself. See compatible inverters. If you put a bidirectional meter, the excessive solar mode will only work when the battery is full.

Difference between the installer panel and the user portal?

The installer panel is a portal exclusive only for installers, which requires phone confirmation from V2C that you really are an authorized installer. From there you can manage all the chargers you have installed. The user portal is accessed through www.v2c.cloud; it has similar settings to the V2C application but has management systems for companies that do not have the application, such as payments or cloud dynamic control. More information: https://v2charge.com/support/v2c-installer-panel/
